July 10 police blotter

The following reports are provided by the Princeton Police Department.

July 10

Sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., unknown individuals threw eggs at a house located on the 200 block of Laurel Circle. There was no permanent damage as a result of the incident.

July 9

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for failure to wear a seatbelt, a 33-year-old Elizabeth male was found to have an active warrant for his arrest issued by the Irvington Municipal Court in the amount of $405. He was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where he was processed and later released after the bail was posted.

An unknown individual stole a wallet from a purse while inside Saint Paul’s Church, 214 Nassau St. The victim reported that her wallet was taken from her purse while she was inside the church on July 6 around noon. The wallet was later returned to a secretary at the church, but $100 was missing. It was later learned that two credit cards were used fraudulently to make online purchases. The investigation is ongoing.

At 11:57 a.m., a sexual assault was reported to the police department. According to the initial report, the incident occurred between December of 2015 and June of 2016. The incident involves a male juvenile and a female juvenile, both of whom are familiar with each other. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.

July 8

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for failure to use a hands-free wireless telephone, a 33-year-old Yardley, Pa female was found to have active warrants for her arrest issued by the Trenton Municipal Court and the Ewing Municipal Court with a total bail of $5,270. She was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where she was processed, posted bail and was released.

Sometime between 12:08 p.m. on July 5 and 11 a.m. on July 8, an unknown individual used an email address that was similar to a Princeton government official and sent emails to the finance department requesting that money be wired to a bank in Massachusetts. The fraudulent activity was recognized and no money was transferred. This incident remains under investigation.

A random license plate inquiry revealed that a 28-year-old Robbinsville female was a wanted person and a no bail warrant had been issued for her arrest by the Ocean County Superior Court. She was stopped on Witherspoon Street and was placed under arrest. The woman was subsequently transported to police headquarters where she was processed and later turned over to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for improper passing, a 27-year-old Riverside male was found to have an active warrant for his arrest that was issued by the Burlington Township Municipal Court in the amount of $305. He was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where he was processed and later turned over to the Burlington Township Police Department.

July 7

An individual stole a wallet from an establishment on the 200 block of Nassau Street  The total amount of the theft was $300. The investigation is ongoing.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for speeding, a 40-year-old Trenton male was arrested after he was found to be a Wanted Person from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Burlington County Sheriff’s Department and Union County Sheriff’s Department. He was also found to have three active warrants issued by the Trenton Municipal Court and bail was set at $4,042. The perpetrator was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later turned over to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.

July 6

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for failing to display a rear license plate, a 44-year-old Bronx, NY male was arrested after he provided false identifying information to a police officer.  Additionally, he was found to be in possession of marijuana and had two active warrants issued to him from Cedar Grove Municipal Court and Fieldsboro Municipal Court. The total bail set on the warrants was $1,026. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of marijuana and hindering apprehension.  He was released with pending court dates.

July 5

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for failure to wear a seatbelt, a 47-year-old Trenton male was arrested on active warrants issued by the Trenton Municipal Court and the Montgomery Township Municipal Court. The total bail that was set was $5,954. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and turned over to the Montgomery Township Police Department.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for failure to wear a seatbelt, a 26-year-old Croydon, Pa male was arrested on an active warrant issued by the Princeton Municipal Court and bail was set at $106. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

Between noon on July 3 and noon the next day, an unknown individual broke the lock to the rear door of a building on the 300 block of Witherspoon Street. The investigation is ongoing.

On July 2, $100 was stolen from a retail establishment on the 100 block of Nassau Street.  The investigation is ongoing.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for having an obstructed view, a 35-year-old Trenton female was arrested on an active warrant issued by the Trenton Municipal Court and bail was set at $200. She was transported to Police Headquarters where she was processed and released with a pending court date.
