Princeton Public Library to host McCarter Live at the Library with Nilo Cruz and Emily Mann Sept. 1

Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist Nilo Cruz and McCarter Theatre Artistic Director and Resident Playwright Emily Mann will participate in a moderated discussion about their artistic partnership in bringing Cruz’s new play “Bathing in Moonlight” to the stage. The McCarter Live at the Library event will be held  Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. in the library’s community room.

Cruz and Mann will be in the midst of rehearsals for this world premiere, and will discuss their inspiration for and creative development of the work and the casting and design of the production. They will also discuss their previous collaboration on Cruz’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “Anna in the Tropics,” and Mann will highlight McCarter’s 2016-2017 Theatre Series.
“Bathing in Moonlight” tells the story of the relationship that develops between a priest and a woman whose family he tries to help. The cast includes Raúl Mendez, Hannia Guillen, Priscilla Lopez and Frankie J. Alvarez. The production will run Sept. 9 through Oct. 9 in McCarter’s Roger S. Berlind Theatre.
